Beta Nu Celebrates 50 Years

On April 6, 1974 at 2:00 p.m., installation of the new Beta Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau was held in the East Carolina University College of Nursing.

Mrs. Virginia George, Treasurer of Sigma Theta Tau, conducted the ceremony. Since that day, Beta Nu has inducted more than 2600 members and has an active roster of over 400 members. Beta Nu has the distinction as one of three chapters world-wide to have received 17 Chapter Key Awards presented by Sigma Theta Tau to chapters achieving exemplary scholarship and service to the profession.

We are excited to celebrate 50 wonderful years as a chapter. Photos below are from the first induction.

  • Apply Now for Beta Nu Scholarships and Grants!!

    The Beta Nu Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau is pleased to announce that we will be offering a graduate nursing scholarship ($500), an undergraduate nursing scholarship ($500), a travel grant ($1000), and two research grants ($1000 each). 

    You must be a current member of Beta Nu to apply for these scholarships and grants. Please see this document for the application requirements for each specific scholarship and grant.
